Capital Projects Underway
During the summer of 2026, work will be done to address our most immediate facility needs and safety concerns. These projects are able to be completed due to the Capital Projects levy approved by voters in November 2024. Future improvements utilizing levy funds are evaluated each January and approved by the school board.

Orchard Center Elementary Reconfiguration of Traffic Flow
Beginning the summer of 2026, construction will begin along the west side of Orchard Center Elementary in order to alleviate traffic issues around the school. This reconfiguration will also minimize long wait times in the parent pick-up areas. This building is the final West Valley elementary school to have the valet area redesigned to create a safter, more efficient bus loading zone and parent pick-up area.
Parking Lot Improvements at Centennial Middle School
Levy funds will be used to pave the parking area south of the school by the tennis courts that are currently gravel. The parent drop-off and pick-up process will be configured for a safer valet experience. Lighting will also be added.
Replacing Gym Floor and Paving Parking Lot at West Valley City School
In addition to replacing the 100-year old gym floor, City School will receive a paved parking area to the north side of the school.
Renovation of West Valley Playing Fields
Beginning May 18, the field area between Buckeye & Grace (behind the District Office building) will undergo fraze mowing, sprinkler repair and other maintenance this summer that will result in a safer playing area for students. Fields will be closed this summer while work is done. Anticipated completion date is September 18.
