WVSD Students in ValleyFest Parade

More than 200 West Valley students from 5 different schools will participate in the ValleyFest Parade. The annual event starts at dusk this Friday, September 20, on Sprague Avenue between Gillis and Pines. Come out and support our kids!

Sheriff Activity Near Pasadena

Six Pasadena Park Elementary students reported seeing a firearm on the side of the road as they walked to school. They did not touch it and reported it immediately upon their arrival at school.
Sheriff's Deputies recovered the weapon and determined it was unloaded. Parents of the students involved were notified and all Pasadena families were made aware of the incident. Kudos to the young students who did the exact right thing.

SVHS Donation Appreciated

As a community service project, students from Spokane Valley High School designed and built Corn Hole Boards and donated them to various organizations, including the Northeast Youth Center. Students at the Center are enjoying the new game.

The Friends of Argonne Library are sponsoring a Book sale on Saturday, September 28, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. featuring gently-used books, CD's, DVD's and more.

Band Mom Given Above and Beyond Award

WVHS Band Director Jim Loucks nominated Cheri Stelzer for the District Above and Beyond Award. He shared that band camp was a huge success thanks to Cheri who planned all the meals, fitted all the uniforms, and assisted in various other ways.

The Outdoor Learning Center extends an invitation to elementary students to spend their late start mornings at the center. Each camp day will feature a different theme and students will engage in nature activities, games, outdoor exploration, making friends and getting to know animals.
