Congrats to the Class of 2019!

Graduation for Dishman Hills High School is Wednesday, June 5, 6:00 p.m. at the Fox Theater. Spokane Valley High and Transition graduations are Thursday, June 6, at 2:00 and 6:45 p.m. at Spokane Community College. West Valley High School graduation is Sunday, June 9, 4:00 p.m. at the First Interstate Center for the Arts. Congratulations to our WVSD graduates!

The annual School Board appreciation event was held recently with more than 900 guests in attendance. The community thank you, hosted by the WVSD School Board Directors, features free dinner, student entertainment, crafts and activities.

Congratulations to the WVHS 1,600 meter relay team. They finished first at the recent meet and are State Champions. Great job Eagles!

No school Friday or Monday

Friday, May 24 is a reserved snow day. The day was not needed as a make up day so there will be no school on Friday. There will not be school on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. Have a safe, long weekend.

Senior Signing Day

WVHS seniors participated in the school's signing day and made their post-secondary declarations. Some will attend two or four year colleges, some will enter trade school and others will join the military. The annual event highlights the choice each graduate has made about their future endeavors. Congratulations to the Class of 2019!

CMS Jr. Lilac Champions

Congratulations to the CMS marching band, under the direction of Kyle Bosch, for the Division 2 first place finish at the recent Jr. Lilac Parade.

It's the OLC's 18th Birthday

The Outdoor Learning Center is having a carnival-themed open house Sat, May 18 from 10 - 2. There will be lots of fun games like Hedgehog Bowling, Toad Toss, and much more. Don't miss the Tortoise Races taking place throughout the day! To celebrate 18 years of the OLC, they will also be holding a silent auction of artwork inspired by the center's animals. The community is encouraged to attend.

Jen Wanberg earns Above and Beyond Award

Dishman Hills High School's Jen Wanberg received the district Above and Beyond Award at a recent School Board meeting. Wanberg is the Nutrition Services employee for the school. Principal House explained "she connects with every single student in this school." Congratulations Mrs. Wanberg!
