DHHS Chess Team Success

The Dishman Hills High School Chess Team placed 2nd in the recent GSL All-City tournament. Congratulations to Coach Ron Jackson and the DHHS Team!

Robotics Regional Competition Coming to WVHS

Robotics Regional Competition

WVHS will host the FIRST Robotics Pacific Northwest Regional Competition on March 22, from 10:30 - 6:00 and March 23, from 9:00 to 3:30. The community is invited to attend this unique STEM competition.

The Hutton Settlement and Millwood Community Presbyterian Church are co-sponsoring a free community meal on Monday, March 25, from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. at the Millwood Community Center, 8863 E. Euclid. Everyone is welcome.

Classified Staff Appreciated

Appreciation was shown at various schools last week to building support staff during Classified Appreciation week. Bus drivers, secretaries, maintenance and custodial staff, paraeducators, nutrition services employees, nurses, I T staff, security officers, and other support staff enjoyed special meals and treats, signs and posters, as well as other surprises in acknowledgement of the hard work they do every day in support of students.

Technology Team Earns Above and Beyond Award

The WVSD Technology Team was presented the district Above and Beyond Award at a recent School Board meeting. They were nominated for their extra effort, working through a recent holiday weekend, to rid our district of an invasive computer virus.

West Valley High School students recently participated in a "Town Hall' type event with Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers. They had an opportunity to interact with her during the one-hour meeting as well as ask her questions.
