We are excited and hopeful we will be able to welcome students and teachers back in the fall. We are diligently working on a plan that will be flexible and support education based on guidance and mandates from the Department of Health, Spokane Regional Health and the Superintendent of Public Instruction. The succession plan worked perfectly. Effective July 1, 2020, Kyle Rydell is West Valley's new Superintendent. Kyle had been the assistant superintendent for the past year with the intention of taking the top job when Dr. Gene Sementi retired.

Matson Receives Above and Beyond Award

Mr. Matson Above and Beyond Award

Deputy Superintendent Doug Matson was presented with the district's highest honor, the Above and Beyond Award, at a recent school board meeting. School Board President Robert Dompier shared that Doug has done an exceptional job of managing the district finances over the past 31 years. Congratulations Doug!
