Generous Seth Woodard Students

Seth Woodard Spice students in grades one and four have been fundraising throughout the year to raise money for Toys 4 Tots. Students used the funds to select gifts to donate to the program and then were visited by Marines who came to pick up the gifts.

Experiential learning for 4th Graders

After a week of classroom visits to teach the WVSD 4th grade students about bald eagles and salmon, the Outdoor Learning Center staff spent a week taking students on field trips to Coeur d'Alene to see the wildlife for themselves.

Ness Elementary Robotics Champions

A Ness 4th grade Robotics Team won 1st place in Innovative Strategy at a recent competition. The successful students competed against students 4th through 8th grade. Congratulations to coach Julie Day and Team Ness!

Centennial Middle School Band Director Kyle Bosch wants to be sure his students have the materials and experiences they need to succeed. He is asking the communities help with donations of Portable String Bass sounds for his Jazz Band.

The Hutton Settlement Children's Home and Millwood Presbyterian Church invite community members to enjoy a free meal. All are welcome on Tuesday, December 11, 5 - 7 pm, at the Millwood Community Center, 8863 E. Euclid, Spokane Valley.

Suspects in Social Media Threat Identified

Investigators have identified the suspects involved in the social media threats made in reference to WVHS on Tuesday. The Spokane Valley Police Department and Spokane County Sheriff's Office released a statement saying there is no imminent danger to students and staff related to these criminal threats. The incident remains under investigation. School will be on schedule today.

Social Media Investigation

As you may have heard there is a threat spreading on Social Media (Snapchat) directed at local high schools. We are actively investigating this at WVHS and believe it is related to the threat at East Valley. Our resource officer and security team are on site. School will continue as normal today. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.
