Kindergarten Pathways
Registration for the 2025-26 school year is open!
To best serve the West Valley community, we offer three distinct kindergarten pathways for families to choose from (see below). Our district is also proud to provide free supplies and meals for onsite learners. Students must be five years old by August 31 for the fall term they wish to enroll for.
Steps to enrollment:
- Families with active WVSD students should log into Skyward and click "Request NEW Student Enrollment." Parents of students who currently attend the West Valley Early Learning Center should follow instructions from the ELC regarding their next steps.
- Families who are enrolling a student in WVSD for the first time should click here to initiate the enrollment process. The system will prompt you with how to proceed.
- Be sure to select your neighborhood elementary as the school, K2 as the grade level, Next School Year (2025-26), and 8/27/2025 as the expected date of enrollment. Please be prepared to upload documentation of birth, utility bill verifying address, and immunization record (if shots were NOT received in Washington).
- Families who live outside WVSD boundaries but wish to choice a student into the school will have additional steps to complete to be considered.
Welcome to the wonderful world of kindergarten!
Entering kindergarten is a great milestone for students as it is the beginning of an entire lifetime of learning and exploration. West Valley School District provides three distinct kindergarten pathways that cultivate belonging and inspire learning while partnering with families and the community. All accept students from outside our district, space permitting.
Neighborhood Elementary Schools
Our full-day, traditional kindergarten program is taught by highly-qualified teachers who are dedicated to meeting the needs of each child and moving them forward. Parents are invited to partner in their child’s education by volunteering on field trips and special events and through involvement in the school’s Parent-Teacher Organization. SPICE is the acronym for Student Parent Interactive Classroom Environment offered at Seth Woodard Elementary. Families of students enrolled in the SPICE program participate alongside a tight-knit parent group through volunteering, attending meetings, planning activities and paying an enrollment fee. Students experience multiple field trips and opportunities to be mentored by older students. For more, click here.

Virtual kindergarten is an opportunity for families to guide their child's education yet have flexibility with schooling by assisting with the teaching of lessons. Teachers and parents work as a team in the education of students. Students gather online daily for a virtual meeting and then have the opportunity to participate in Learning-In-Person Days and monthly field trips. For more on enrollment, click here.
