Kindergarten Pathways

Welcome to the wonderful world of kindergarten! Entering kindergarten is a great milestone for students as it is the beginning of an entire lifetime of learning and exploration. West Valley School District provides three distinct kindergarten pathways for families to choose from, but they share many common values. All three programs teach foundational skills through hands-on curriculum by qualified, caring staff who know how to make learning fun. There is a focus on social emotional skills as well as a partnership with community organizations and parents. In addition, all accept students from outside our district (depending on space availability).

Our district is proud to provide free supplies and meals (for onsite learners) to all elementary students. Families can pre-register at any time, but enrollment for the fall officially opens on March 1. Please note that students must be five years old by August 31 for the fall term they wish to enroll for. Read more about each of the unique pathways below to find the right fit for your kindergarten student!

Virtual kindergarten is an opportunity for families to guide their child's education yet have flexibility with schooling by assisting with the teaching of lessons. Teachers and parents maintain high levels of communication and work as a team in the education of students. Students gather online daily for a virtual meeting where they participate in calendar activities, games and character lessons. As a way to build in social opportunities, students have the opportunity to participate in weekly Learning In Person Days and monthly field trips. For more on enrollment, click here.
