March 30th Family Communications

Due to police activity near Trent and Park this afternoon (Wednesday, March 30th), West Valley School District placed Seth Woodard Elementary, Orchard Center Elementary, Early Learning Center, Millwood Kindergarten Center, and West Valley High School into a temporary lockout to ensure student and staff safety.  School lockouts prevent anyone from entering or exiting school buildings while there is a safety concern in the area, such as police activity. Schools were in lockout for approximately 40 minutes from 11:50 am - to 12:30 pm. WVSD Resource Officer, Natalie Woolard, was on the scene providing timely updates to West Valley.  All students were safely inside school buildings during the temporary lockout time frame.
